 What Is Reiki
Since I got started in Reiki, I will tell people that I am a Reiki practitioner and it always serves to remind me of how little people know about it because I am given this blank stare that let’s me know that they have no idea what I am talking about.
Reiki is an ancient system of energy healing, where the practitioner will channel energy through their hands to the person and allow the Reiki to freely flow into the area where it is most needed. Reiki energy is tapped by attunements and the use of symbols. Attunements are passed from
The Master Reiki Teacher to the student.
"Once attuned to Reiki you have Reiki for life."
Let’s start then with the basics: Reiki (Ray - Key) means Universal Life Force Energy. Since we are made up of energy then Reiki is the positive intelligent compliment energy.
That is the reason that Reiki is never harmful.
Reiki is unlike any of the other energy forms, for instance Chi, in that it is never harmful and it does not take years to master. You can give as much Reiki as you want and the person will only benefit. You must practice for years to be able to understand how to raise and direct Chi. Reiki is not like that because it is not controlled by us, we are just the channels for this wonderfully healing energy to flow through.
The reason I call Reiki the ‘positive intelligent compliment energy’ is that Reiki knows exactly where it is needed and will go there. Now this might seem impossible but it is what happens when you lay your hand on someone with the intent of sending Reiki.
We are all made up of energy, that is what your angels see when they look at you. This is what God/Goddess/Higher Power sees when they look at you. You are a mass of energy vibrating.
The reason Reiki is needed is that we as humans allow fears, in the form of negative thoughts, to block our positive energy flow. So when the Reiki Practitioner puts their hand out they are targeting negative energy blocks.
Now that we have an idea of what Reiki is, let us turn to its history.
